Engineered to deliver fuel efficient operation in a compact and light weight design, the DF50A has utilized many of the advancements that Suzuki has pioneered over the past decade. This three cylinder DOHC engine is designed with Suzuki’s Lean Burn Control System to deliver high tech performance with efficient operation and top level fuel economy. And as an added bonus, new DF50A engines also incorporate Suzuki Troll Mode System. During the 2011 Miami Boat Show, the Boating Writers of America presented Suzuki Marine with the NMMA Innovation Award for the DF50A / DF40A.

The new DF50AV is designed with a “High Energy Rotation” lower unit sporting a 2.42:1 gear ration, which enables this new model to use a bigger 14 inch propeller – perfect for powering pontoon boats and other large, heavy craft. This mid-range engine is also designed with Lean Burn Fuel Control System, which adjusts the air / fuel mixture according to operating conditions. The system significantly improves fuel efficiency across the operating range, from low speeds well up into the cruising range. New DF50AV model is also available with the optional Suzuki Troll Mode System.

The new Batteryless EFI powerhead with an integrated power tilt system makes raising and lowering Suzuki’s DF9.9TH High Thrust a breeze. With plenty of torque, a high-thrust propeller and a 2.08:1 gear ratio deliver efficient and reliable low-speed trolling for a range of heavy fishing boats. Built for the big job, with forged aluminum connecting rods, a one-piece forged crankshaft and a low oil pressure warning system. A large hub design even reduces cavitation in reverse.
